Ia tidak boleh dicerna atau diserap di dalam perut tetapi akan kekal di dalam usus dan merupakan sumber makanan kepada bakteria baik di dalam usus <sup>1<\/sup>. Inulin adalah molekul fruktosa yang dijumpai dalam pelbagai buah-buahan, sayur-sayuran dan herba, termasuk gandum, bawang, pisang, daun bawang, artichokes dan asparagus. Inulin yang digunakan dalam suplemen kebiasaannya berasal daripada rendaman akar chicory di dalam air panas <sup>2<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Fakta Menarik<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Kini, inulin telah digunakan secara meluas dalam makanan berfungsi di seluruh dunia untuk ciri kesihatan dan teknologi <sup>3<\/sup>. Daripada suplemen kepada formula bayi, daripada minuman kepada pelbagai pastri, inulin telah muncul semakin banyak dalam kehidupan kita. Oleh kerana konsistensi yang berkrim setelah dilarutkan di dalam air, para pengilang menambahkan inulin sebagai pengganti lemak dalam marjerin dan salad dan menggantikan gula di dalam beberapa makanan berproses <sup>4<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Manfaat Kesihatan<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><strong>1. Kesihatan sistem pencernaan<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\" translation-block\">Inulin memperlahankan pencernaan, menambahkan rasa kenyang dan mengurangkan penyerapan kolesterol apabila ia melalui saluran pencernaan <sup>5<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<li class=\" translation-block\">Inulin membantu meningkatkan jumlah bakteria yang berfaedah, seperti <i>Bifidobacteria<\/i> dan <i>Lactobacilli<\/i> yang membantu meningkatkan pencernaan, imuniti dan kesihatan keseluruhan <sup>6<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Sembelit<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\" translation-block\">Kajian menunjukkan bahawa individu akan mengalami kekerapan pembuangan air besar dan peningkatan konsistensi najis. Disebabkan ini, badan dapat menyerap nutrien daripada makanan dengan lebih baik <sup>7<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Kesihatan tulang<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\" translation-block\">Inulin meningkatan penyerapan kalsium dan magnesium daripada usus dan menyumbang kepada peningkatan ketumpatan tulang <sup>8<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4. Kawalan kadar gula dalam darah<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\" translation-block\">Kajian menunjukkan suplemen inulin dapat mengurangkan kadar gula dalam darah bagi golongan berumur pertengahan dan warga emas <sup>9,10<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<li class=\" translation-block\">Inulin memperlahankan proses pencernaan karbohidrat, membolehkan gula dilepaskan secara perlahan. Oleh itu, kadar gula tidak menaik secara mendadak selepas makan <sup>11<\/sup>. Tambahan pula, kemanisan inulin adalah satu persepuluh daripada sukrosa.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>5. Mengawal berat badan <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\" translation-block\">Sebagai serat makanan, inulin tidak mengandungi sebarang kalori dan memberikan rasa kekenyangan yang boleh membantu mengurangkan selera makan dan menyebabkan inulin amat sesuai untuk mereka yang ingin mengurangkan berat badan <sup>12<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<li class=\" translation-block\">Sebagai tambahan, inulin boleh mengurangkan tindak balas keradangan terhadap orang yang obes <sup>12<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Dos Harian Yang Disarankan <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Tiada dos rasmi bagi inulin.
